Students who did not have their vocabulary packet today can hand it in tomorrow for 1/2 credit.

Students are to read for 30 minutes and write a prompt in their reading journals.

Homework:

1.) Students are to complete their vocabulary packet for tomorrow.

2.) 30 minutes of reading in their choice of a fiction, chapter book. Respond to one prompt in their reading journal. Their answer needs to be between 2-3 paragraphs long.

Unfortunately, I was unable to be in school today due to an unexpected emergency at home.

In class, students had their vocabulary quiz and worked on their memorable moments essay.

Homework: Block 1 and 2: Need to have a final, printed draft of their narrative for Monday.

Block 4: Enjoy your weekend!

Please Note: Reading journals are beginning on Monday. Students should already have their notebooks for this, but if they do not, they MUST have them for Monday or they will fall behind and  will do so quickly.

In class, students took a short vocabulary quiz on words from last week. Students are given a packet of new words every Monday and are expected to have them memorized for Friday when they will usually have their quiz.

Tonight's homework:

Complete vocabulary packet. Students were given an answer sheet this week to check their own work because of the shortened school week because of this, this can not be handed in late. It is due tomorrow.

Reminder:

There are still a good amount of students coming to class without their supplies. Students have to have what is outlined in  the previous post or they will greatly struggle with this class. Dunn is not providing school supplies this year. It is the student's responsibility to come prepared everyday.

Welcome Back!

Students took assessments for reading group placements today.

Their homework for block 1 and block 4 is to have their class contract signed and brought back by Friday. This is 25 homework points!

For block 2, not only is the class contract due Friday, but they need to return free lunch applications, weapons and cell phones contracts and the packet that was given to them on the first day of school.

For all classes, supplies are due by Friday as well. This is 35 homework points:

Supplies needed for class: 
➢ Blue and Black Pens
➢ 1 binder (3 rings, 1inch)
➢ 1 folder
➢ 2 marble composition books
 ➢ 1 pack of dividers
➢ 1 pack of loose leaf paper


All supplies can be purchased at Staples, Target, Wal-Mart or The Dollar Store. All supplies are due by Friday, September 12, 2014.
